Immediately after your arrival, a blood test will be carried out to determine whether you are suffering from hepatitis C, HIV, syphilis, etc. If you test positive, hair transplantation will not take place. In the case of hepatitis A or B we charge an additional 200 €.
Afterwards you can relax and enjoy your first day in Istanbul. The more positive and calm you are before your hair transplant, the more relaxed you will be during the procedure.
The next morning a staff member will pick you up and take you to the hospital where our Garanhair team of specialists will perform the preliminary examinations. This will be followed by a preliminary consultation with your doctor. Now is the time to inform your doctor about possible pre-existing conditions such as blood clotting disorders, allergic reactions or a tendency to increased scarring.
Most hair clinics use the FUE technique for hair transplantation. If the hair analysis is available, the doctor will discuss all details of your operation with you before the operation.
Then the donor sites in the back of your head and the desired course of your hairline will be determined to ensure a natural result of your hair transplant.
The hair in the donor area is shortened to approx. 2 mm and, depending on the extent of the operation, the required part of the donor area is shaved.
Don’t worry, you will feel almost nothing when you remove the grafts, which are the follicle carriers with 2 to 3 hair roots each. The areas to be treated are anaesthetized locally.
After the removal of the grafts, they must be moistened in a cooled solution so that the hair roots do not die. The team of specialists examines the individual grafts under the microscope and sorts out unsuitable hair. The hair follicles are then implanted into the channels prepared by the doctor with a fine needle. They heal by themselves. You can watch TV or listen to music during the hair transplantation, which can last three to eight hours depending on the size of the hair.
